Zenia Feenstra Obituary

Zenia Kay Stepetin Feenstra

Kay Stepetin, age 49, was taken from us in a house fire on Monday morning, November 18, 2013. Kay was born in Anchorage, on September 16, 1964, to Dixon and Marge Stepetin. She was the older of two daughters. She loved to take care of her baby sister while growing up.

Kay attended school on St. Paul Island, then attended 11th grade in Palmer, and graduated from Wasilla, in 1982.

Kay's oldest son, Robert was born in 1986, Sean in 1987, and Dennis in 1992. We later lost Robert in January of 2007.

Kay worked different jobs throughout her life, but mostly she tried to be a good mother. Kay was the most generous soul, she would give you the shirt off her back. She always felt sorry for the underdog, never complaining about her own situation. She will be missed so much by all of her family.

She made several extended visits to Montana, where she really enjoyed the Traditional culture of the reservation. She made many friends, near and far.

Kay married Robert Feenstra, and lived on St. Paul Island until 1991, and then moved to Anchorage. She has been living in Chugiak for the last 8 years. She met Russell Waits in Anchorage, and they have been together for more than 15 years.

Kay is survived by Russell, and her two sons, Sean and Dennis of Anchorage. She has numerous relatives, aunts, uncles, and cousins who live in the Anchorage area and the Pribilof Islands.

She is survived by her Montana relatives, her mother, Marge, sister Larissa, niece Tasha, nephew Kyle, and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her Dad, maternal and paternal grand-parents preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at Saint Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel; to sign the guestbook and view the online memorial please visit www.janssenfuneralhomes.com.

Condolences to the family. Kay was always a positive and happy person to be with. Our luck was to have grown up with her on the island. May God Bless, keep and comfort her always.
