Nicholas Dever Obituary
AGE: 19 • Freehold
Nicholas John Dever, "Nicky" of Freehold, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the young age of 19 in a car accident on Kozloski Road in Freehold Township. He was a former resident of Waretown and a current resident of Freehold. He was born in New Brunswick to Sherry and Christopher Dever. He is the baby brother of a very proud big sister, Caitlin Dever. Nicky was blessed to have spent time with his beautiful baby girl Mikayla Elizabeth Dever, whom he adored. Nicky has attended the Freehold Intermediate School and Freehold Borough High School.
Nicky loved unconditionally and was always a sweet and caring person. He had a beautiful soul and was always the first person to offer help when help was needed. Nicky did not get the time to grow up and become the man he was destined to be. For those he loved and who loved him his loving light will remain forever present.
Nicky worked at Wawa in Howell where he went above and beyond and had dreams of furthering his career. He wanted to accomplish many things to be the best father he could and to provide for his beloved Mikayla. Though some of his ambitions will never be, for all who knew Nicky they would have been attained given more time. In our hearts, he accomplished all just by being the genuinely loving person we all knew.
Nicky is survived by his mother, Sherry Dever; his father, Christopher Dever; a sister, Caitlin Dever and his daughter, Mikayla Dever. He is also survived by grandparents, Barbara and Nikoli Newlinski, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visiting will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. A gathering will be held at Nicky's' mother's home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. In lieu of flowers, the family will be organizing a college fund for his daughter, Mikayla.

Caitlin and family...May God Bless you all. I was so sorry to hear about your sudden loss of Nick. I only worked with him for a few short months, while he was just a young 17yr old..trying to be an upstanding /responsible Dad for his baby to be. I remember him tattooing his baby girls name on his forearm after she was born! May his baby girl always know the love he had for her! Caitlin and family ~ my deepest sympathy and condolences for your sudden loss of Nick. I only knew him for a few short months while working with him at Applewood, and he was just a young kid trying to do what was right for the new baby girl he and Noelle were expecting, and then she was born. I remember him having her name tattooed on his forearm...Mikayla...he was so cute/adorable and proud!
