Joel Mowery Obituary
AGE: 81 • Holmdel
Joel E. Mowery, 81, of Holmdel, passed away on Friday, May 19th, 2017 at Bayshore Community Hospital, in Holmdel surrounded by family. Born in Shamokin, PA then moved to New Jersey where he resided in Holmdel for over 50 years.
Joel was the owner of J.E. Mowery & Son Excavating Inc. which he established back in 1966. Over the years, he donated his time and services to many in the community. He loved spending his free time taking care of his koi pond and operating his favorite machine the "hoe".
He is survived by his wife Maria Mowery; his daughters Marianne Knoeppel, Michelle Tilton, his sons Joel Jr., Shawn, Lee, as well as their spouses, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, on Wednesday May 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 am. Entombment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum.

RIP Joel..You will be Greatly missed. I will miss seeing your Smiling face every morning at the store. You were such a Kind man with a Beautiful heart. I considered you a Good friend and like a part of my family. Now, you are with your friend Butch up in Heaven...I know how much you missed him. On Earth, we will definitely miss you and will remember you forever. Sending a hug up to Heaven to you.
