Words cannot express my sorrow for you and your family Joyce. Know that I am praying that God's loving arms stay wrapped about you. Remembering all the good times we had in Lakewood Heights and the wonderful people that lived there.

I knew Ricky was a special person through the ways he showed compassion to others from the days I first knew him as a teenager while he worked at Jacks Corner Grocery. He was a true Christian who followed our Lords word for watching over and helping others. He was led to his field of vocation in order to help others and show them Gods way. The vision of him will be missed, but you will feel his presence guiding and watching over you until you meet again. God bless you all.

At at a time like this, we are all searching for some words to comfort each other and particularly the family. There are none. "I'm so sorry," rings rather hollow, yet we say it anyway. Just know that we are grieving with you and have lost our brother. He did not die in vain, he died doing exactly what he wanted to do in his life and he did it well. He was one of the most honorable officers I have known and he will be missed. May God bless the family, and the officers, deputies and comrades who await the last journey.

When I heard the name and the age, I had a feeling that it was the guy I knew in high school as "Ricky". Then I heard the description of what a friendly, helpful and all round great guy he was, and I realized it was the Ricky Daly I knew even before I saw the photograph. I haven't seen Ricky in a number of years, but it sounds like he only got better with age. It's great to know that someone from the old neighborhood gave back so much to others and to his community. My sincerest sympathies go out to his family and friends.

I hope that you will remember he has not really left, and he hears you when you speak. Take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place and he is waiting to greet you someday.
