Dorothy Stubbs Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Dorothy McGraw Stubbs, 89, Orlando, died Sunday after a brief illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and lived for many years in Atlanta. Preceded in death by husband Frank L. Stubbs, Sr. who was Executive Secretary of the Atlanta Baptist Association and Minister of Education at First Baptist Church Atlanta, as well as Trustee at Atlanta Baptist College. Dorothy Stubbs was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Park where she served as Director of Preschool and Children until 1986. She led both adult and children's education programs at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta prior to moving to Florida. Survivors include sons, Frank L. Stubbs, Jr. of Minneapolis and Tom Stubbs of Orlando; sisters Frances Wallis and Virginia Kees of Decatur and Ann Ventress of Venice, Florida; grandchildren Shannon Kowalczyk and Thomas Stubbs, Jr.; great-grandson Mason Kowalczyk; loving nephews and nieces and many close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local American Heart Association. Graveside service at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton, Georgia, Saturday, February 19 at 2 PM. Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Funeral arrangements by Bowen-Donaldson, Tifton.
