I just tried to telephone Ron and discovered that he had passed. What a shock!
A few years ago I went to Cambodia and worked with Ron for a few weeks to try to open up jobs for the children when they leave the orphanage which is one hour outside of the city. Even though he was sick he was tireless. The children loved him and he gave them a lot of hope. A thoroughly giving man!

May prayers are with the family. Mr. Abney touch so many lives in his life. The family can take comfort in Psalms 37:11,29. I hope the scripture will be a source of comfort.

I'm truly sorry to hear of his passing. Lean on God for For strength. Philipians 4:13 says For all things I have.the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me.

Ron was a wonderful man and inspirational colleague (I worked with him in Timor and Cambodia). I am indebted to him for introducing me to the kids in Takeo, Cambodia. Ron's tireless support for these children is a truly noble legacy. Our thoughts are with his family.

Please acept my condolences. Having lost three members of my immediate family, I can understand how you may be feeling about the death of Mr. Abney. This is a difficult period in your lives and the grief may continue for some time. Many people turn to the Bible for comfort and answers to their questions. What happens to the person; where are they? Could we ever see them again? It is very comforting to read verses in your Bible to get answers to your questions. Reading the Gospel of John, chapter 11 verses 1 to to 44 will be helpful for you.

No one can really know the heart of another, but if actions are an indication; then Ron had the heart of an angel. I will truly miss his gentle spirit and humble willingness to use his life serving others. Until we meet again in heaven, rest well my friend. David McDaniel and the folks in the Alano Little Room.
