Family-Placed Death Notice
CHANEY, Hazel Celebration of Life Service in Loving Memory of Mother Hazel Chaney will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, 12 Noon at Greater Vine City Baptist Church, with remains to lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service. Rev. Alvin King Pastor, officiating. Interment South-View Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 10am until 8pm here at the mortuary. She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters, Dorothy, Odessa, Sandra (Herman), Brenda and Sharon; four sons, James (Vera), Walter, (Gwen), Ronald and Michael; 65 grandchildren, 131 great-grandchildren, 50 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in the Allen Hill Community. I never had the opportunity to meet this wonderful lady, but I am fortunate enough to know one of her grandchildren, Ms. Linda Moore. Without Mrs. Chaney, there would be no Linda. I thank God for her life and knows that her soul now resides with the Lord.
My sincerest condolences to the entire family during this difficult time.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK GRANDMA CHANEY FOR HER LOVE SHE HAS SHARED WITH ME SINCE MEETING HER. ON THE LAST TIME I WAS WITH HER I FOUND OUT SO MUCH ABOUT THE CHANEY FAMILY BECAUSE SHE REMEMBERED EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE'S BIRTHDAY WHAT A WOMAN. I WILL MISS HER SMILE AND THE WAY SHE ALWAYS GREET ME.
