Family-Placed Death Notice

JOSEPH, Lucille LUCILLE JOSEPH Lucille Joseph, 87, of East Point, Georgia passed away in her sleep early on the morning of December 22, 2011. She was born on April 14, 1924 in Eskdale, West Virginia. Lucille attended William and Mary College in Richmond, Virginia where she majored in art and interior design and was vice-president of the Art Students' League. She married Dr. Alfred Joseph on September 2, 1945 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Charleston, West Virginia. She was always by her husband's side supporting him as he practiced pediatrics in East Point for many years. She was a gifted artist and decorator, and she enjoyed collecting fine English and French antiques. She taught art at Georgia Military Academy in the 1960's. She had a kind and loving spirit and shared her many talents with her church, College Park Presbyterian, and with her dear friends and community. She had been an active member of the College Park Women's club and medical organizations for many years. She is preceded in death by husband, Dr. Alfred Joseph; daughter, Laura Joseph; brother, Adle Joseph: and parents, Ameen Joseph Merhi from Btater, Lebanon, and mother Nahia Masoud Dlaykan from Aley, Lebanon who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900's. Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred Joseph, Jr. and Janice Joseph of Peachtree City, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Debra Joseph of Kennesaw, Georgia; sister, Wauded Ameen, Fairfax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Idell and William Hamady, Charleston, West Virginia; brother, Ameen Joseph, Jr., Charleston, West Virginia; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Sara Joseph, Charleston, West Virginia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phillip and Suzanne Joseph of Wipoma, California; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Joseph, Jason Joseph, Abbey Joseph, Gareth Joseph, Annalyse Joseph, and Gabrielle Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011, at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held one hour after the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
