Family-Placed Death Notice

PIRATZKY, Richard RICHARD JAMES PIRATZKY Richard (Rick) James Piratzky, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 13, 2013 in St. Augustine, Florida. Rick was a resident of St. Augustine, Fla., where he had resided for the past eight years, previously from Atlanta, Ga. and Asheville, N.C. He was regional sales manager/business development manager for Uponor Inc. of Minnesota. Rick was a weekend golfer and enjoyed many outings with his son Adam who is assistant general manager at Robert Black Golf Course in Chicago, Ill. Rick enjoyed and had a passion for the water and spent much of his free time sailing "In 2 The Wind." A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338, on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 12:30 PM. Survivors include his son Adam Piratzky of Chicago, Ill.; mother, Jody Piratzky of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Joanne Piratzky, M.D., of Alpharetta, Ga.; and brothers, Thomas (Stephanie) of Smithville, N.J. and Roger (Pam) of Cumming, Ga. He is also survived by his nephews, John Piratzky of Cumming, Ga. and Alex and Matthew Piratzky of Smithville, N.J.; and a niece, Morgan Piratzky of Cumming, Ga. He is predeceased by his father, Albert Piratzky. Rick also leaves behind his girlfriend, Rachael Garvey Woods of St. Augustine, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family will dedicate a tree in the gardens at the Mission of Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine in Rick's honor, a place he often visited and enjoyed. The mission commemorates the founding of the first permanent Christian Church in the United States. Contributions may be made to the Mission or Roger Piratzky and sent to Roger Piratzky, 3801 Drew Campground Road, Cumming, GA 30040. Donations can also be made to; The Joshua Frase Foundation, P.O. Box 2041, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32004; Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southern New Jersey; or the American Cancer Society .
