Marvin Weems Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Marvin Weems, 54, of Decatur, Georgia, died Monday, April 10, 2006 following extended an illness. Born on November 18, 1951, he was the eldest child of Willie J. and Carrie (Baker) Weems. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Trinity Tabernacle Baptist Church, 592 Veterans Memorial Highway, Mableton, GA 30126. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 6:30- 7:00pm. He was a 32nd degree Mason and well known electrician who owned and operated his own electrical business, Advanced Power Systems. He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Lavita Bullard (Michael), Marvin Weems, Jr. and Titus Weems; seven grandchildren; sisters, Renita J. Weems of Nashville (Martin L. Espinosa), Joyce Weems, and Amelia Weems; a brother, Donald Weems who lovingly cared for him during the last months of his illness; and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements for his remains have been in the care of Goolsby Mortuary, 1375 Jonesboro Rd., SE, Atlanta, GA.

To the family, sorry to hear about the passing of Marvin. He and I worked together for several years in Public Buildings and were good friends. Even though we lost contact, I always remembered the friendship we had. Our prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
