Earl Brooks Obituary

Earl Thomas "Tom" Brooks
7/18/1924 - 12/9/2010

Born July 18, 1924 in Morgan County, Ohio, Tom passed away suddenly on December 9, 2010 at Auburn Faith Hospital.
He spent his youth growing up on a farm in Ohio, working the fields alongside his Uncle's Bob, Denver and Elmer. In 1944 he joined the U.S Army, stationed in France and Germany during World War II. After he was discharged, he went back to school in Indianapolis, Indiana. There he met the love of his life, Rose Brooks. They married in the summer of 1947.
In 1952, he and his family moved to California, where Tom went on to work in electronics for Ames Research Department at NASA for 30+ years. In his "spare" time, he worked as a real estate agent for Fred Cappa Realty in Redwood City.
In 1985, Tom retired and moved to a five acre farm in Auburn, California. During his retirement he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, swimming, working around the house and spending time with his family. Tom loved life and made friends everywhere he went.
He is preceded in death by his son Thomas "Mike" Brooks, daughter-in-law Kathleen Brooks and mother Eva Brooks.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Rose Brooks, daughter Cheryl Austin (David), granddaughters Elizabeth Austin (Cliff), Erin Scagliotti (Rob Durham), great-grandchildren Ricky, Hailey and Alex, his beloved dog Ginger and many other family and friends who will miss him greatly.
