Dear Jodie,
I stumbled across this while I was looking for another obituary. Although it has been a lot of years, my condolences on the loss of both of your parents are sincere.

Dear Jodie, please accept heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of your father. It takes some getting used to, I know.
Larry Nichols and I were researching
classmates from Huntington, class of 1966 and I chanced upon this post. Both our fathers passed many years ago. So now we are orphans. A Navy man deserves the utmost respect, we enjoy so much good from the service he performed in unthinkable circumstances.
Many blessing to you and yours, especially your daughter for her work spreading the Good News far and wide.
Most sincerely yours in service,
Timothy Bradbury - Chicago
Lawrence Nichols - San Marino

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I had the privilege of caring for Mr Ben ,that is my name for him, for the past one and a half years, we shared some wonderful times together. He was a sweet, kind, gentle person, ever so polite and always giving out the compliments. I will miss him. He had become a big part of my life. So to the family be grateful that God placed such a sweet, dear and caring person in your lives, as Father, Husband, Grandfather and he was my Friend. I will miss that smile.

I had the good fortune to work with Ben for several years before his retirement. He was a professional through and through and a delight to know. His radiant smile, warm personality and terrific sense of humor will be the things I will always remember about him. May God hold him in the hollow of His hands. Sincerely, Paul Fieberg

Dear Family - I began my career at Capital Group working with Ben. He was a very kind and gentle person who took me under his wing and imparted a great deal of knowledge about the mutual fund business to me. I will always be great full to him. He was truly a family man who spoke highly of his daughters. I truly enjoyed working with Ben and getting to know the family. My prayers are with you in this sad time.

Family: I met Ben during his time with the Capital Group. Truly a gentleman to me and to clients. He always, always took the high road. His philosophy was key in multiple successful business relationships. Have not seen Ben since he left Capital. Clearly Ben had a positive personal impact that has lasted for many years. Peace to each of you. And fire that cannon!!!

I worked with Ben for many years at The Capital Group and knew him to be a kind, witty, honest and hard working man. He spoke often and lovingly of his daughters and that is always a measure of a truly fine man. I will always smile when I remember Ben. Janet Quigley

Please do not think I am being rude at your time of grief, for I did not know Mr. Shattuck. However as a student of history, I did read his very impressive obituary. I want to take this time to thank him and his family for contributing so much to our country and for sharing such a wonderful, apparently well lived life.
