HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mabel Lee Goodwin Davis, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011. She was 83 years old. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. The funeral service will be conducted today, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. H.B. Johnston will officiate. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Sharon Williams of Augusta; her sons, Danny Davis (Polly) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Charles Davis ( Julie) of Hephzibah; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sister, Kate Miller ( Cuda); and her brother, Earl Goodwin ( Joyce). She was preceded in death by her parents, John Earl and Nellie Marie Goodwin; her husband, Obert R. Davis; her brothers, Jack and James Goodwin, and her sister, Florine Mercer.
