Mary Hase Obituary

Hase, Mary Elizabeth
Mary Elizabeth Hase, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. She was born on December 13, 1935 in Dupree, South Dakota. Mary graduated from high school in Mitchell, South Dakota in 1953. She worked as a bank teller before her marriage to Gary in December 1957. Mary was a homemaker but also worked as a nurse's assistant for Mesa Public Schools for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed meeting new people and as a result had a large circle of friends. Mary is survived by Gary, her loving and devoted husband of 58 years; her son, Gary Jr. and his wife Terri of Flagstaff, AZ; her daughters, Gina of Gilbert, AZ and Lisa of Montrose, CO; grandchildren, Natalie, Jenna, Matthew, Kevin, and Sarah; great-grandchildren Jade and Theo; sisters Dawn Elaine and Lorna Lee of Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews, as well as many treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Verna Flick, and her sister, Virginia Ann Hook. Mary requested no services. The family is planning a celebration of her life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at their home in Sunland Village East to share special memories, some laughs, and the togetherness of family and friends that she always enjoyed. The family is grateful for the many condolences they have received, but requests no flowers. Mary's wishes were for family and friends to make memorial contributions, if desired, to a charity of their choice. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
