Brian Garbarini Obituary

Garbarini, Brian David
passed away on Monday, March 29th 2010 at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. Brian is the beloved son of Mike and Georgine Garbarini, Laura and Barry Smith and the brother of Tony Garbarini and Joshua Smith. Clarisa Hernandez and the entire Cruz Hernandez family have been like Brian's second family while he was living in Phoenix, and we are grateful for their love. In addition, Brian's numerous relatives, friends, teachers and colleagues also mourn his passing. His death leaves a big void in many lives. Services for Brian will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 02 at Austin Memorial Park on Hancock Blvd in Austin, Texas. Brian was born October 3, 1983 in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Highland Park School in Dallas Texas in 2002. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies, Texas Tech University, May 2005, with a minor in both Psychology and Substance Abuse Studies. Since 2006, Brian had been attending Arizona State University where he was nearing completion of a PHD in Counseling Psychology with a special interest in neuropsychology. He was looking forward to a career in pediatric psychology and was greatly enjoying his work at Phoenix Children's Hospital. We remember Brian as a very bright, strong, loving and compassionate part of our family who always devoted his full energy and dedication to anything that he pursued. We fondly remember his love of travel and tales of international locations. We enjoyed sharing Brian's love of the outdoors and his passion for camping, hiking and beach trips. The family requests that in lieu of flowers people consider making a donation to either: Camp Lutherhill Luther hill provides a place for children and people of all ages and faiths to interact with God and nature in an outdoor setting. We selected this charity based on Brian's love of the outdoors and interest in working with children. Georgine serves on the Board of Directors for Lutherhill Ministries, and Brian was very proud of her work there. Camp Lutherhill, P.O. Box 99 La Grange, Texas 78945-4132, (979) 249-3232. Or to a memorial fund being set up in Brian's name at Phoenix Children's Hospital located at 1919 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Checks should be made out to Phoenix Children's Hospital with Brian Garbarini written on the memo line.
