Alvarez, Mary Irene
Mary Irene Alvarez, age 80, passed away April 2, 2012 in Glendale, Arizona. She was born November 1, 1931 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mary was married to Leonard Robinson in August of 1948, and they lived in Bakersfield, California until his passing in 1970. She moved to Arizona in 1971 to start a new life with her second husband Gilbert Alvarez. They remained happily married for 39 years before Gilbert's passing in 2010. Mary enjoyed working for Wells Fargo Bank for 22 years before she retired at the age of 65. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and playing bingo, but most of all Mary loved spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her children: Pam (Ken) Hauck of Glendale, AZ and Michael Robinson of Southgate, CA; her grandchildren: Leonard (Russett) Clasen of Casper, WY and Michele (Jarrett) Keller of Brighton, CO; and her great-grandchildren: Taylor, Garrett and Talan. A family memorial service for Mary will be held at a later time. She is now free to enjoy dancing her days away.
