We met Marshall several years ago in Three Forks, MT and visited with him often. He ate pretty much weekly in our small Cafe. Saddens me he is gone.

I still think of Marshall's generosity when I see cowcatcher - the property he donated to the Wood River Land Trust! I was so lucky to get to spend time with him - laughing!

Marshall Ashcraft was one of the most original and enjoyable rounders that I ever knew. He loved life and he and I shared a great love for mules and horses. I always really enjoyed it when he would breeze through town for a visit. Never got tired of the old Vegas stories with him and Cecil Garland at the casinos in the old days. My wife, Teresa Garland, as well as Cecil's other daughters, Becky and Cecelia were always thrilled when Uncle Marshall came to town.
Its always tough when a friend passes and all even worse when its family. Although I never met Marshall's daughters, I am sure they are deeply saddened by his passing as I know he loved them very much. All of Marshall's friends in Montana are sad for the loss as well and our hearts and best wishes go out to his family and friends in the southlands.

Marshall and I became friends a couple years ago though his generosity to the Wood River Land Trust in Hailey, Idaho.
We had a lot of fun together and always planned for more. I will miss him more than I can express.
My deepest condolences to the family - he is in my heart and you are all in my prayers.
