The world has lost a wonderful person. I only met Ryan a handful of times through Cody. He was one of those people that as soon as you met him, you felt like you'd known him for years.
And I've heard so many wonderful stories about him.
It was so evident by his actions that his intentions were such that he would do anything for his loved ones. And his family included loved ones not limited by blood relation as he cared for so many, not to mention his service to all of us as a Marine.
A caretaker, a protector and a warm soul that people enjoyed being close to.

He will be sorely missed by many.

First of all… I remember (and will never forget) his smile.
He always seemed to have a smile on his face.
When I would see him he would walk up to you and wrap his arms around you and give you a big old hug!
(he was not afraid to give hugs!)
And being that he was a tall human being… I think 6' 4”… but being so thin be looked to be about 7 feet tall.
He had long arms that could almost wrap around you twice… or so it seemed.
He always had a positive attitude. I never heard him complain about anyone or anything.
I enjoyed his company… he was polite… yet had a good sense of humor…
He was so proud to be a Marine. I remember when he came to church and wore his uniform.
There was no one prouder than Ryan to be a Marine!
And I think we all knew how much he loved to wrestle. He loved to wrestle so much that he even went out for wrestling his senior year of high school.
And just ask Tyler (Ryan's little brother) how much he loved to wrestle. Every time we were at Joanne and Hal's house for the block-parties, he and Tyler would “always” end up on the ground wrestling.
The world lost a good guy!! I know he has changed and touched a lot of lives while he was with us!
Yep, I am going to miss his smile!

I only knew Ryan through his Aunt Barbara but through her I knew him to be a wonderful young man who was dedicated to the Lord and to his country. I am sad we won't know all of the significant contributions he would have made to our world, but I rejoice that He is with our Savior in perfect peace. With deepest sympathy, and yet rejoicing with you for Ryan's destination was secure and he is forever with our Lord. Love, Rhonda and Shawn Jensen

Our hearts go out to Wayne, Shari and Tyler and all of Ryan's family and friends. Although we only met Ryan at a few family events, we were all very happy and proud of him at his MCRD graduation four years ago. We have enjoyed reading the many fine comments about his as a man on Facebook and are saddened that we barely knew him. Wayne and Shari both did a great job raising such a strong man who also enjoyed the famous Boston humor. With much love, Allen Hazard and Janet O'Dea. San Diego CA

There are no words to express how deeply I feel for you over the loss of your beloved. I did not know him but I do know he was one fine Marine and loved and honored by those who served with him. My son is also a Marine and just as much brother to him, In my heart he is also like a son to me as I love and embrace all our heroes. May God grant to you all His sufficient Grace, comfort, rest and assurance that someday soon you will see him again in outstanding Glory adorned in the highest rank with many others in our Lords service. I'm an assistant coach for Sunrise Mtn. wrestling team. Ryan was one of my wrestlers. His effort was never questioned and he had a huge heart. In wrestling we call 'heart' the act of never giving up, always pushing till the end, perseverance, and an inner drive that can not be taught. I'm a bigger guy, so I actually used to wrestle against Ryan quite often. Always a competitor and a great kid with a positive attitude. I haven't seen him since HS but I'll always remember him. I'm sorry to the family and friends that have lost a good man. RIP Ryan
