William Zelko Obituary

Zelko, William (Bill) A.
William (Bill) A. Zelko, aged 75, passed away on June 21, 2017. Bill was born on February 15, 1942 in Chicago to Joseph and Lydia Zelko. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph and sister Nancy Backus. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlene, sons William and James, daughter Karen (Robert) Komada, granddaughters Megan and Melissa, and sisters-in-law Pat Zelko, Marilyn Melkey, and Carolyn Kelly. Bill worked in the grocery business for over 35 years as a meat cutter and was a hard worker and loving family man. He enjoyed cooking and watching his family eat his delicious home cooked meals from his Captain's Chair, which nobody but him was allowed to sit in. He enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas. He and his wife moved to Arizona in 1993. He was the patriarch and will be dearly missed for his strong opinions and loving advice to his family. His generosity continues on as he selflessly donated his body to Science Care for research and to assist the victims of tragedy.

Charlene, I just found out about Bill's death. I am so sorry. I remember the delicious Cadberry Chocolate Easter Eggs you would bring to me, from him, to work. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Karen,Bill and Jim. I have thought of you often over the years.
