Rene St. Esteben
Rene St. Esteben, 81, longtime resident of Bakersfield, passed away on November 16th, 2017. Born in St. Etienne-de-Baigorry, France in 1936 to Charles and Marie-Jean St. Esteben, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margot, brother, Jean and sister, Aline. He is survived by his step-daughters Linda Greenhaw, Penny Dukes and Sandy Vaughn, his brother Jean-Baptiste of Spain, sisters Yvonne, Amelie, and Marie-Therese, all of France, as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was a member of the Kern County Basque Club, the Druids Bakersfield Grove and the Local 220 affiliate of LiUNA.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on January 6th, 2018 at the Druids Lodge, 501 Sumner St., at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the scholarship funds of either Kern County Basque Club or the Druids of California.
