Romeo Padilla Obituary

Romeo H. Padilla 1928 - 2010 Romeo left this earth on November 4, 2010, to join his beloved wife of 65 years in Heaven. For nearly 30 years, Romero worked as a cement mason alongside his brother-in-law, Sam Rodriguez. Sam affectionately referred to Romeo as his "Concu?." Romeo spent his leisure time watching the Dodgers, fishing, and gambling in Vegas with his wife. His favorite saying when the Dodgers lost was, "I tell 'em." He was always up for a family barbecue and was especially fond of the holidays, when the entire family would come by to visit. Romeo was preceded in death by Nieves, his loving wife of 65 years. He is survived by his children, John (Lupe) Padilla, Lydia Holton, Flo (Frank) Chmiel, Ruben (Marianne) Padilla, and Steve (Lily) Padilla; and his beautiful grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The family is eternally grateful to Steve and Lily for the great care of our dad. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. No visitation is scheduled. Greenlawn Mortuary www.bakersfield.com
