Betty Kinkade Obituary

Betty Jo Kinkade 1928 - 2010 Graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 17th, at 11:30 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Betty Jo Kinkade passed away of natural causes while visiting her daughter in Reno, NV, Sept.7, 2010. Betty Jo Morris was born in Taft, CA where she met her husband of 56 years, Archie Don Kinkade, who retired from the California Highway Patrol in 1981. Betty Jo and "Don" made their home in Bakersfield for over 50 years. They lived short periods in Garden Grove, Ridgecrest, Tehachapi and Paso Robles while Archie worked for the CHP. Betty Jo was a homemaker, mother and talented lady who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She enjoyed and pursued many talents during her life, not the least of which were home decorating, sewing, crocheting, knitting, oil painting, ceramics, playing piano and singing. Betty Jo had a beautiful soprano voice and could sing to her own piano accompaniment or a Capella. Betty Jo performed the Lord's Prayer and Ave Maria many times merely for the asking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Don Kinkade; her mother, Ermina Stella Morris; father, Joseph Marion Morris, both of Taft CA; and grandson, Jason Griffin of Reno, NV. Betty Jo is survived by daughters, Nancy Ilene Clements and son-in-law Wes Clements of Bakersfield; Jeanne Ann Crozier and son-in-law Paul Crozier, of Reno, NV; grandchildren, DeAnn Kizzar, Christopher Clements, Adam Clements, all of Bakersfield, Ron Griffin, Jr., Paris, TX, Shelley Bradley, Portland, OR; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Florin Morris of Bakersfield, Dick Morris of Cotter AR, Bob Morris of Salinas, CA; many nieces and nephews. www.bakersfield.com/obits
