Cindy was born and raised in Bakersfield and went to local schools. She later met her future husband in Los Angeles. They were married and lived in New Orleans, later Slidell, Louisiana for 46 years. She worked at Walmart, a good portion of that time, until she had to retire due to health problems.
She truly loved both her family and never missed the holidays. She was out in California for Thanksgiving every year. Every time her parents were sick she was by their side as fast as she could be. Cindy was also a cat lady who couldn't turn away a stray. They had too many to count over the years.
Throughout her illness, her husband James tended to her every need. She passed at her home with him by her side.
She leaves behind to miss her: husband James Irvin, brothers Henry Laughlin (Meg), Glenn Laughlin, Guy Laughlin; a sister Viola Lewis; in-laws Becky Escude, Pat Jermyn, Gerald & Danny Irvin and very special friends George & Becky Hale.
She joins in Heaven her parents, Hugh and Lula Mae Laughlin and in-laws Margaret Irvin, Freda Irvin and W.C. Irvin.
Her final resting place will be at Greenlawn Cemetery near her mother and father.
