Klaudia Fisher Obituary

Klaudia Renee Fisher Coldwater Klaudia Renee Fisher died at her home at 558 River Rd., in Coldwater, MI, September 28, 2010 after battling cancer. She was 59 years old. Klaudia Renee Coats was born on November 18, 1950, in Coldwater, MI, the second daughter of Betty Lou (Hedrick) and William O. Coats. She attended school in Union City, graduating in 1968, from Union City High School. She furthered her education at Western Michigan University, and attained her teaching degree in 1972. Later, she returned to WMU in pursuit of her Master's certification in the fields of Special Education and Performance Driven Leadership. Klaudia was a life-long learner. For the past forty years, Klaudia Fisher served the Community of Union City well. In her teaching career at Union City, she taught Special Education, Language Arts, Science and Writing at the Middle School, Special Education at the High School, and served as the Sherwood Elementary and Learning Center Principal. However, she is most remembered for her tireless dedication to the children of Sherwood Elementary where she served as the school's first grade teacher. During her tenure she was also named "Teacher of the Year" for Union City Community Schools. Fisher further served Union City in a variety of political and administrative positions including: Mayor Pro-temp in 1986, Union City Village Council Trustee, Union City Planning Commission, Union City Zoning Board of Appeals, Union City Betterment Association and was named Union City's Citizen Of The Year in 1989. Fisher was a Charter Member of the Society for Historic Preservation, serving as an officer for many years, was also instrumental in founding the Union City Community Chorale and served for many years on the Union Lake Community Association. She also worked for the Union City Register Tribune over the years, especially taking great pride in documenting local history. The door was always open at her home in Union City. There she raised her two sons, Christopher and Corey, who remain her most valued accomplishment. Neighbors, friends, family and pets gathered there for coffee, holidays, meetings, reading, swimming, intellectual conversation, great food and spirits. Klaudia will be remembered as the model of a class act, as a distinguished friend and an influence to all she met. She is survived by her husband Rolla Uldricks, her children, Christopher Fisher, of Lansing and Corey (Cheryl) Fisher of Missoula, Montana, father, William O. Coats of Coldwater, sisters Deborah Versau of Battle Creek and Lucy (Don) Shepherd of Coldwater, brothers Robert (Kathy) Coats of Climax, William O. A Union City Student

Mrs. Fisher was a ray of sunshine, beautiful and warm. I miss her smiles, encouraging words, hugs, and just being around her in general. She taught me four subjects in fifth grade; it was obvious that she had a lot of love for us students, and we loved her right back. Mrs. Fisher was an amazing, wonderful teacher and an incredible person. I pray often in memory of her.

Klaudia was such a unique and wonderful person! She touched so many lives in such a positive way...more than anyone will ever know! I had the privilege of her mentoring me as a young woman, wife and mother and I later thanked her for it! Even upon leaving Union City and my youth behind, her strong influence has lived on in me and I have continued to admire, respect and love her from afar. God graced us and blessed us with her beautiful personality for 59 years and we are all better for it. She will never be forgotten! My deepest sympathy to all.

In every lovely garden, one Bloom stands out from all the rest
Someone will always pick it...for it is the very best
The garden keeps on growing but one spot will remain bare
For nothing can replace the Special Bloom that was there
Klaudia, you are deeply loved and missed.

I knew Klaudia best through my good friend, Christine Kreps. I loved the stories of Klaudia's achievements and adventures, and the way in which she took on life, both in the high times and the low. Whenever I did see Klaudia, her spirit was contagious. I feel an emptiness with her gone, and I wish comfort to her family and dearest friends.

Ms. Fisher was a special teacher and friend to many in Union City and Sherwood. Though she was not one of my specific teachers, it is clear as it was while I was in school, that she truly has had a positive impact on many. Prayers for her family and those students who now remember their time together.
Thank you Ms. Fisher.

Klaudia was a special friend of mine. She had a happy, cheerful disposition that was contagious to all who knew her. She was the only gal in my life who often offered to join me on stage as a pip if I decided to sing Gladis Knight. She sang and danced for us at Sherwood on stage many years and put her whole heart and joy into living. She loved who she was and where she was in Union City. We will miss her fun. She was sunshine in our lives. She was a friend to all. Rest in peace my friend.
