I remember going to Marguerite's home to play with her daughter who was in my elementary school. She was very sweet and kind to me. Later on she moved into a home next to my mother and they became good friends. She was a very sweet and kind person!

Marguerite was a very nice next-door neighbor to my mom. They had a standing date to go out together and have a Thanksgiving dinner. I was sorry to hear of her passing.

I remember running to Vet's Grocery for my grandma back in the early 60's - one of the original mom and pop stores. Marguerite would holler to Murphy, "Where did you put the such-and-such?" And he would tell her right where it was without even having to look.

Blessings to Marguerite and family.

Marguerite really cared for Battle Creek and the people of our community. As Mayor and City Commissioner I always enjoyed getting a telephone call from Marguerite. She wasn't afraid to tell me that she loved selling real estate - even in bad economic times. She dressed very respectfully and always was very pleasant at the City Commission meetings. Her voice will be missed a lot by a lot of people; however, I know that she's now keeping all the Saints organized up in Heaven. May Marguerite Hill rest in PEACE and may perpetual Light shine upon HER!

Just thought I'd say a few words 'bout the good ol' days. Used to go the "Murphy's" all the time with my mom when I was a little girl. We lived on N. LaVista Blvd. and it was the highlight of my week when we got to stop in the store and buy candy. I remember Marguerite very clearly behind the counter chitty chatting with my mom. I was born in 1948 so you can tell how far back that goes! Thanks for the memories. You were great. Sincerely, Linley Bordine-Houseman (my mom would want me to do this... in remberance on behalf of Lizzie Angell)

Marguerite was a friend of my parents for many years (Bill and Alice Youngs of Battle Creek and later Muskegon, now deceased), and also helped me in the purchase of my first home. She was a wonderful woman whose many kindnesses I remember well. We are so sorry for your loss.

Trena Marie, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Through the years we talked and she always kept me up on what was going on in Battle Creek. We worked on some real estate projects and she was always so professional in her business and one to be trusted. Please know that I have you in my prayers.

Marguerite was an impressive lady. She was always sharply dressed and carried herself with such class, yet she was so approachable and down-to-earth... I loved that about her. We chatted about once a month when she'd call to remind me of the RPOA meetings and I looked forward to her calls. I'll never forget her!

Marguerite and I were very close. She was just like a grandmother to me. I will never forget how much she cared and worried about me every time I got even a little cold. I could never understand why she was worried but it made me laugh. I will miss her very much. Tina, you are a very lucky woman to have such a great mother who loved you dearly.
