Elinda Lou Smith Hoff Dittmar passed away Sunday, January 14,2018 at her home in Webster, Texas with her beloved husband, Frank Dittmar by her side. Elinda was born February 17, 1941 to her late parents Sadie Edna Purdom Smith and Carl Dewey Smith.
Lin, as many called her, was a member of the first graduating class of South Houston High School in 1959. She attended Lillie Jolly School of Nursing in 1961. She then attended Braniff Flight Attendant School and worked for the airlines through 1963. On her flight route from Houston through Chicago she met Thomas Hoff and they married in 1963 and had two sons, Thomas Keith Hoff and Daniel Joseph Hoff. Lin raised her sons in the Houston area and worked for Trunkline Gas Pipeline and was a very active volunteer with the Braniff Clipped Wings organization. She then became a pharmaceutical representative and covered the Houston area from 1977 through her retirement in 2001. On the side Lin enjoyed being an Avon representative. In April of 1997 Lin married the Love of her Life, Frank Dittmar. They shared their love for traveling, camping, & spending time with their grandchildren. Lin adored her grandchildren and her favorite moments was watching them play their sports or attending dance events. She was also blessed with many friends, old and new.
Lin will be remembered for being a devoted mother, grandmother & friend, how proud she was of her family, the strength & courange she showed through raising her sons, building her careers and her hard fought battle with cancer, and most special was her love for Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Lin is survied by her husband; siblings, Rhana K. Williams and Carl Smith; children, Thomas Hoff and wife Tammy, Daniel Hoff and wife Kimberly, Frank Dittmar and wife Chrissy, Mark Dittmar and wife Kelly, Amanda Janton and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Daniel Hoff, Thomas M. Hoff, Ryan Hoff, Jessica Hoff, Kirsti Roberts, Sean Roberts, Michael Dittmar, Christa Dittmar, Shane Dittmar, Faith Dittmar, Lillian Howard, Sage Stevens, Benjium Dittmar, Sarah Dittmar, Bailey Janton, and Sarah Jantonn; greatgrand Children, Shay Dittmar; nieces, Sonya Smith, Deborah Smith, Jenny Carter; nephew, Darren Williams; numerous counsins and a long list of friends.
Heaven has gained the most beautiful Angel who will continue to watch over us & guide us with her love.
A memorial service will be held at Gateway Church in Clear Lake,Texas in early February.
