Lester Brink

Lester J. Brink, 84, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Feb. 8, 1929, in Quincy, Ill., died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Lester was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Quincy, Ill. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and former member of St. Albert the Great Church. Lester worked for Local No. 309 in Collinsville, Ill. He loved painting, fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R., nee Garland, Brink; his two sons, Douglas R and John A. Brink; his daughter-in-law, Charlotte M. Brink; his parents, Joseph and Helen, nee Bockhold, Brink; and his two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Brink.

Surviving are his six children, David J. (Robyn) Brink of Okawville, Ill., Dean M. Brink of Millstadt, Ill., Tom A. (Cheryl) Brink of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Anthony J. (Kathy) Brink of Troy, Ill., Diane L. Brink of O'Fallon, Ill., and Mary Ann (Larry) Hagen of Troy, Ill.; his daughter-in-law, Sherry Brink of Fairview Heights, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, from Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Ill.
