Sharron J. Bennett

Sharron Jeanne Baker Bennett was reunited with loving family in heaven on October 4, 2011. Sharron, known to many as Shari, will long be remembered for her love, quick wit and laughter. She was a source of encouragement, and saw only the best in people. Shari's dearest treasures were her family and friends and she always kept them close to her heart. Her door was always open, and there was room at the table for all that stopped by.
Sharron was a born June 1, 1939 in Chico, CA. Her early years took her all over the coast and mountains of northern California with her parents Clarence and Wanda Baker and her brother, Gerald. Sharron had wonderful memories of these times traveling together as her father worked contracting roads through scenic California.
In 1958, Sharron married Norman Bennett. Norm was already a father of three wonderful children, Joseph, Julia and Jeffery, whom she loved. Rebecca, Samuel and Norman (Ritch) were added soon after. They settled near Sacramento, CA where Shari operated a day care in their home. She touched the hearts of many children and offered peace of mind to their working parents.
With their children grown, Sharron and Norm packed up and moved to Whatcom County, where they opened Drive Line Service of Bellingham, Inc. in 1982. Sharron continued working at DLS until 2009. Her recent years were lovingly dedicated to caring for Norm, who passed away in March of this year.
Sharron is survived by her children, Rebecca (Jack) Hendricks of Garden Valley, CA, Norman (Sandra) Bennett of Maple Falls, Julia (Jeff) McKinney of Sumpter, OR, Jeffery (Brenda) Bennett of Orland, CA. and her brother Gerald (Pat) Baker of Sand Point, ID., seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Whatcom Hospice and Sharron's friends and church members who offered their love and support during her illness. Services are planned for Saturday, November 19th at 11:00 at the LDS church, 503 Everson Rd, Everson, WA. Shari will remain in our hearts forever, and we are all grateful that God shared her with us.
