Virginia Alvord Obituary

Virginia L. Alvord, aged 96, passed away March 3, 2011 in Bellingham. She was born January 22, 1915, in Glasgow, Montana to Fred and Lulu Alvord. A longtime resident of Whatcom County, she will be missed by her dearest friend Sally Yeager, and by her many other friends in the Bellingham and Ferndale communities. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her unstoppable smile, and her natural ability to make friends. Virginia loved craft projects, puzzles, games, and writing letters. She was always on the go, and seldom missed an opportunity to be involved in local events, church, and the Bellingham and Ferndale Senior Centers. A remembrance service will be held at 2:00 PM, March 16, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas St. off Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham; all who knew and loved Virginia are encouraged to come celebrate her life and socialize at the reception to follow.
