Courtney Foucher Obituary

Courtney Elizabeth Foucher

1994 - 2014 BENNINGTON Courtney Elizabeth Foucher, 20, passed away in her mother's arms on Nov. 19, at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y. She was surrrounded by her loving family, who watched Finding Nemo with her all day, until her passing at 6:03 p.m. Courtney was born Friday the 13th, May, 1994, in Bennington, Vt. to Gina Condo and Adam Foucher. She was the youngest of this couple's three children. She really thought that her birthday was unique and she loved telling anybody and everybody she was born on Friday the 13th. She truly adored her older brothers, Cameron and Spencer. She showed them, much to their chagrin, by stealing all their clothes. She rooted for them in their sport of wrestling and loved to play video games with them. She was a true Mount Anthony Wresting fan and enjoyed going to the matches, even after her brothers had gone on to college. Giving the wresting team members hi-five's was one of the best things, she thought, and she considered them all her friends. Courtney loved the Boston Red Sox, especially David Ortiz. One of the happiest days of her life was when Big Papi sent her a birthday card! She attended many games at Fenway Park with her mother and brothers. It was one of her favorite places to go. Another favorite place of Courtney's was Walt Disney World. As sick as she had been, she was truly energized during her trip there in 2013. She was never any happier than when she was in the Magical Kingdom. She rode the race cars 5 times! Courtney loved watching Ellen DeGeneres and anything to do with Ellen, actually. She often wrote Ellen to tell her how much she loved her. She watched her almost everyday and truly believed Ellen when she said, "I love you!" to the camera. It was one of Courtney's dreams to meet Ellen one day. Courtney was able to travel to places like Nashville, Tenn., where she got to meet Darius Rucker! She also went to Dollywood in hopes to run into one of her favorite country artists, Dolly Parton, but was satisfied to see Dolly's Hologram! Courtney also visited Washington, D.C., which she enjoyed very much. But her favorite jaunt was to Gesgapegiag, Quebec, to be among her people. Courtney's favorite memories were those spent with family. And she brought so much joy to family gatherings, as she was the most excited to be there. She would talk about it for days and days. She especially loved holidays at Aunt Jessica's and Uncle Howie's. She enjoyed hanging out with her Aunt Veronica, too. She thought she was working with Aunt Veronica, which made her feel very important and needed. She met a lot of new friends while "working" with Aunt Veronica, and that gave her so many happy memories. Courtney loved horses. She loved her internship at the Equus Center, where she got to walk little children around on their therapeutic horses. Courtney's family will be forever grateful Courtney had this opportunity through her school, the Housatonic Academy in Pittsfield. She attended Housatonic Academy for several years, and had planned to graduate in 2015. Going to school was not always her favorite, but she loved her teachers and fellow students. She talked most about her best friend, Sam Jones. She enjoyed doing her internship with Sam at the Equus center. She also loved her teacher Mr. Conry, who was helping her in her process to change her name to Black Cloud Sitting Bull. We thought this was a joke, but he really took her seriously. Thank you, Mr. Conry. Courtney is survived by her parents, Gina Condo of Bennington, and Adam Foucher of Las Vegas, Nev.; her big brothers, Cameron and Spencer Foucher of Bennington; her little sister Ailish Paulin of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; "Bonus brother" Willy Bull of Bennington; her maternal grandparents Kathy Lamarre of Bennington and Guy Condo, Sr. of Gesgapegiag, QC; paternal grandparents Thomas and Carla Eyberg Foucher of Albuquerque, N.M. and Rose Stuka of Syracuse, N.Y.; Great Uncle Walter Foucher, Jr. (Uncle Bud) and MaryEllen of Clinton Corners, N.Y.; Great-Aunt Diane Leary of Burlington, Vt.; and several uncles and aunts, and cousins too numerous to print. But special recognition should be given to Uncles Bryan and Guy Condo, Jr., who were there to love her in a paternal role as she grew up, and to Aunts Veronica and Jessica who gave her great hugs and love. Courtney was predeceased by her favorite person in the whole world, Great-Grandma Katherine Foucher; her great-grandmother, who she was also fond of, Catherine Jennette McHale; great-grandmother, Lina Condo; step-grandfather, George Lamarre; cousins, Kevin and Jacob Oldham; and many other angels who will be sure to welcome her into heaven. Courtney was too young to leave us, and we prayed for a miracle until she was taken. And all the while, she was a miracle. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services to celebrate the life of Courtney will be held on Wednesday Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at the HANSON WALBRIDGE SHEA FUNERAL HOME with the Reverend Gary Rogers officiating. Burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. when the family will be present. Gifts in memory of Courtney may be made to Vermont Make A Wish in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. Very sorry to hear of this and my thoughts are with you.
I clearly recall one of the first times I met Courtney as a young girl. I came to visit my grandmother Katherine and Courtney was there. The three of us went to lunch at Jensen's. Gram said it was her favorite lunch place and Courtney agreed! We all had some good laughs at that lunch.

Gina, Spencer, Cameron and rest of family and friends,
May God comfort you at this time and in the days to come. So sorry for Courtney leaving you, was praying for a miracle too. We know she's a peace now and not suffering. Had many fun and good times with her in Elementary school. She was definitely a girl who knew what she wanted, a strong, bold personality and a great heart. Will be missed by many.

What a moving tribute to this special young woman ~ yes, taken too soon from the earthly life but sometimes we need to let them return to heaven to become the special angels we always knew they were ~ the year of "firsts" will be difficult but keep remembering what she lived her life as ~ such a caring young lady ~ you are in our prayers ~ knowing she is safely in heaven, as you celebrate her life, the love and memories you shared will never die.
