Richard Miskinis Obituary
Richard was born June 26, 1931 in Amsterdam, NY, the son of Pranas and Salomea Zukas Miskinis. Mr. Miskinis has made his home in Lee since 1972.
Mr. Miskinis graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and went to work for Mobil Oil Corporation in the late 1950's then to G.E. Plastics, as a chemical engineer, from where he retired after many years of service.
Mr. Miskinis married the former Millicent Webb on October 29, 1960. Mrs. Miskinis died on November 8. 2000.
Richard enjoyed golfing, tending to his gardens, relaxing with a book and looked forward to playing bridge with his friends.
Mr. Miskinis leaves behind four sons: Michael F. and his wife Brenda, of Northborough, MA, Steven E. and his wife Margaret, of Lexington, VA, Richard T. Jr. and his wife Laura, of Lenox, MA and Peter, of Lee, and one daughter, Kathleen M. Bartlett and her husband Donald, of New London, NH. In addition, he leaves behind six grandchildren: Cara, Adam, Elena, Beckett, Jack and Ryan; and his sister, Lorraine Miskinis, of Scotia, NY.
Mr. Miskinis was predeceased by his two brothers: William and Peter, his two sisters: Frances Tamayo and Julia Cardillo, and his daughter-in-law, Holly Miskinis.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church on Friday, June 15th at 10AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday evening from 5-7PM at the Kelly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard's name to the Lee Food Pantry, c/o Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
