James Brayman Obituary

James Howard Brayman 1935-2008 FLORIDA James Howard Brayman 72 of 32 South County Road, Florida, Mass died Wednesday, March 26, at the North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Petersburg, N.Y. on Sept. 6, 1935, son of James L. Brayman and Lena Church Brayman. He was educated in Petersburg, N.Y and Berlin, N.Y. schools.In his younger years, he was employed in Troy, N.Y. and later in construction work until he joined the production department of the former Sprague Electric Company in North Adams, Mass from 1955 to 1972. He was employed with the Warren Wire company of Pownal, Vt. from 1972 to 1976 and returned to the Sprague Electric Company in 1976 until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Brayman was a member of the Florida Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member and former chairman of the Florida War Memorial Committee. He also served as a special policeman for the Town of Florida. He leaves his wife, the former Priscilla M. Burdick whom he married Sept. 10, 1955 in the Florida Baptist Church, one daughter Sherry L. Chambers and her husband Kimball F. Chambers of Lumberton, N.C., Two sons- Stephen L. Brayman and his wife Carol of Natick, Mass., Lt. Col (USAFR) Darryl W. Brayman and his wife Ellalyne of Lorton, Va. 10 grandchildren, Amanda L. Chambers-Katzenberger and husband Jason; Kimball James Chambers, Leilani B. Chambers, Stephen C. Chambers, Diana R. Brayman, Lucia Warren, Vanessa L. Brayman, Joshua I. Brayman, Ross A. Brayman and Erika L. Brayman, Two greatgrandchildren Ryleigh M. Katzenberger and Christian James Katzenberger. One sister, Marie Brayman Tefoe of Newcomb, N.Y. One brother, Leroy Brayman of Troy, N.Y. Nieces,nephews,grandnieces,grandnephews. Predeceased by three sisters Clara Sbrega, Marilyn Hewitt, Loretta Tefoe and four brothers Leon Brayman, Lawrence Brayman, Richard Brayman and Ronald Brayman FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will take place Saturday March 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Florida Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Burdick officiating. Burial will take place in the springtime in Florida Church Cemetery. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St, North Adams are Friday March 28, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Florida Baptist Church or the Florida Volunteer Fire Dept through the funeral home.
