Harry Friedman Obituary

March 10, 1912-Feb. 8, 2015 Harry Friedman passed away at age 102 and 11/12ths surrounded by his loving family. Born March 10, 1912 in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Dora and Joe Friedman. A veteran of World War II, he was deployed with the Army Air Corp in Europe. After returning home to Birmingham, AL, he continued in the family business of Friedman Autoparts. Coming from a large family during the depression, he learned at a young age the value of hard work. After retirement, he moved to Gainesville, FL with his wife of 59 years, Helen Goldner Friedman. He spent his remaining years in Asheville, NC. He is survived by his three children, Alan (Marilyn), Michael (Lynn), and Adele (Steve); four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held February 12th at 11:00am at B'nai Israel Cemetery, the corner of East University and Waldo Road, in Gainesville, FL.
