Gertrude Painter Obituary

Gertrude Alice Painter, 83, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, MO , with her son and granddaughter at her side.
Alice was born on December 31, 1927, to Edson and Gertrude (Hoff) Haller at the family home between Boonville and Pilot Grove, MO. She was one of six children, with three brothers and two sisters. She attended the one room Prairie View School as a child.
Alice married William L. Painter on April 20, 1953, and they had two children, Robert Edward Painter, and Eugene Earl Painter. Alice was a farm wife her entire life, and was a member of the United Church of Christ at Billingsville, MO.
She is survived by her sons, Bob Painter and wife Mary of the family farm, Gene Painter of Jefferson City, MO, and wife, Sandy Painter of Boonville. Grandchildren, Mallory Painter, Andrew Painter, Jeremy Painter and wife Sarah. Great grandchildren, Charlotte and Delaeni Painter, and one brother, Milford Haller of Lamine, MO, and one sister, Alvera Baslee, of Lamine, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on Dec. 3 2003, a grandson Ryan Cole Painter on June 11, 2005, and brothers Andrew Haller, Harold Haller, and sister Helen Verts.
Services will be at Meisenheimer Funeral Chapel in Pilot Grove, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM, with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to Katy Manor Activities, or Ashley Manor Activities.
