BERNARD WEINSTEIN

WEINSTEIN, Bernard "Bernie" 96, of Aventura, FL, formerly of Newton, MA passed away on April I, 2013 surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was the devoted husband of Rusty (Gerson) and the late Beatrice (Klickstein). Bernie is also survived by his children Larry and Lonne Weinstein of Miami Beach, FL; Carole Weinstein of Acton, MA; and Arline and Nick Kardasis of Wellesley, MA. He was adored by his grandchildren Corey Weinstein of Oakland, CA, Janna and Jonathan Jacoby of New York City, Zoe Kardasis Sturtz and Ryan Sturtz of Minneapolis, and Ari Kardasis of New York City and he was the beloved "Big Papa" to Benjamin Weinstein, Sam and Max Jacoby, and Eli and Oscar Kardasis Sturtz. Bernie was the founder and president of Bernard Cap Co. of Hialeah Gardens, FL. He was formerly a partner at Bancroft Cap Co. of Framingham, MA. His civic work included his being among the founders of the City of Aventura, FL, a life member of the Joint Council of Aventura, FL, a president and board member of the Terraces of Turnberry, Aventura, FL., a founder and treasurer of Garden City Masonic Lodge of Newton MA, a founder of Temple Reyim in Newton MA, and an officer of the Rotary Club of Framingham, MA. Donations may be made in his memory to Doctors without Borders; Smile Train, Oxfam or a charity of your choice. A memorial service was held at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center in Aventura, FL.
