I am so sorry for your loss I remember DR, Vineyard very well he did remove my thyroid in 1999 and left no scar at all. He did a perfect job but we moved from MA in 2005 to TN.
I just remembered him and googled him. He was a great doctor and I am so sorry for your loss, He saved my life so I will remember him until I die.
RIP doctor you will always be remembered not only by your family but by all those whose lives you touched.
Revelation 14:13
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them"

Dear Phyllis,
I was a colleague of Gordon's at HCHP and remember him so fondly as a mentor, doctor and friend at work. When we were department chiefs, we would compare notes about how difficult it is to manage physicians. He was always a ray of sunshine, full of enthusiasm and curiosity. I will miss him!
My condolences to the whole family, Judy Feldman

Dear Phyllis and children,
I am so sorry and deeply saddened to hear of Gordon's recent passing. In the short time that I had the opportunity to meet him and to spend time with him, I enjoyed his great sense of humor, his kind and big heart, strong values, and his love, loyalty and dedication to his wife and family. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to have met him and your family. Thank you for sharing him with me and with so many others who benefitted from his care and friendship over the many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Phillis & children, My sincerest condolences for your loss. When it came time to
have thyroid surgery, I was quite frightened until
my pre-op visit. Each person I had to see said,"You are having the BEST surgeon"! "My mother/father/aunt/uncle was his patient & everything was wonderful". My courage heightened & my surgery
was a success. Rest in Peace, Dr. Vineyard; you were the best.

Phyllis, Mandy and Sam,
Sending our love to you. We loved seeing the joy he clearly received from sailing or just being on the water. I think he probably only found more pleasure in passing on this passion to his children. He was easy to admire and to have affection for. We will miss him, sailing and Buzzards Bay will miss him too. With love, The Cooney Family

Dr.Vineyard
Dr. Vineyard removed much of my thyroid many, many years ago. During a pre-surgery visit to his office at Harvard Community Health Plan I asked for an explanation about the details of the operation. He took out a pad of paper, came out from behind his desk, and proceeded to draw pictures and explained that though the surgery was not difficult it was time consuming because of the delicacy of the viscera which had to be navigated to reach the thyroid.
Dr. Vineyard's detailed explanation (along with one other "on paper" explanation by my childhood GP) remind me of the power of medical explanation, and, its' ability sooth and comfort patients. Dr. Vineyard was good at that.
My condolences to his family and friends,
Gregg and Lisa Stone

Dear Phyllis,
T.L. and I have always felt that our lives were enriched by knowing Gordon. We will miss him very much. Our connections go back so many years to Arkansas and through some of the tough times we had after Teddy's accident and then to this disease that he fought so valiantly. We are thinking of you now and our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult time.
