Capt. Albert David Healey

Albert Healey Obituary

Captain Albert David, 77, formerly of Framingham, died at his farm in Langdon, NH, on November 10, 2001. Captain Healey was born May 18, 1924, and was the son of the late Albert Sr. and Rubima (Bates) Healey. After attending Quincy (MA) High School, Captain Healey served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11. On graduating from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at King's Point, NY, he entered the fleet of Texaco Oil, serving with distinction and rising to Fleet Commodore. At his 2001 Merchant Marine Academy Class Reunion, he was awarded the USMMA award for outstanding professional achievement and the Gold Medal award for 50 years at sea. Captain Healey was a member of the Boston Marine Society, the American Legion, and the Langdon, NH Planning Board. He is survived by his son, Eric Healey of Framingham; his daughter, Robin Mainwaring-Healey of Langdon, NH; his grandson, Mark Andrew David Healey of Framingham; and his sister, Marjorie Healey of Bedford, MA. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 14, at 1:00 PM at the Plymouth Church, UCC, in Framingham Centre. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Langdon Covered Bridge Society, c/o Marilyn Stuller, Holden Hill, Langdon, NH 03602.
