He met his dear wife Peggy in Osterville, MA and was married at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in 1995. An adoring father, deeply devoted to his family, he raised his two wonderful children who enjoy his passion for music, sailing and skiing. He was an avid sailor his entire life. He served as member of the Newport-Bermuda Race Organizing Committee for several races and had coached Barnstable Youth Soccer for his children's teams. Edward's passion for music started at early age and his wonderful talent led him to performances in school musicals and later to singing in the choir at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. His other passions included crossword puzzles, reading, cruising with his family, world travel, skiing, snorkeling over coral reefs, relaxing at the family farm in Vermont, and the appreciation of good food. My sincere condolences to the Rowland family. Edward was the boy we all looked up to as kids and he remained one of my role models as he grew into adulthood. I feel honored to have known Edward and cherish the life experiences I shared with him, including two particularly rough Bermuda races where Edward's experience and cool head were greatly appreciated by me and the rest of the crew.
