David welcomed us in to his family's lives, shared his interests enthusiastically, celebrated our kids, an made us feel important. Much of his wisdom prevails in many of my thoughts and some of my actions. :)

We played a lot of golf together. Dave never cheated but got angry occasionally (only at himself). I will miss him. Gerry Gillies Kingston Ontario

My uncle David was one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever known. He held a special place in my heart. I so wish I could be with the family to pay my respects. My heart goes out to his lovely wife Andrea, all his children, family, and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Dears Andy John, Herman, Sally, Cliff, and truly beloved grandchildren 5,
David's death feels like the end of an era, of a true gentleman, adoring son, faithful husband, intensely loving dad, loyal friend, progressive lawyer, community member, active volunteer, sailor, tennis player and pal. David loved people, socializing, working, being fair and being involved.
David gave many words of wisdom that I cherish, now and forever. Also, he suggested humility as a sanity saver: eg, when you drive by the house of a good friend and lots of cars are parked in their drive because they are hosting a party to which you were not invited, remember: you were out doing something more interesting anyway! Or, the invitation got lost in the mail!
David and Lois and David and Andy made our lives in Cohasset welcoming, memorable, and full with their enthusiasm, warmth, refuge from hurricanes, and each of you.
With love and wishes for a little harbor heaven, Allison
