I was a student of Marius in the summer of 1982 in Decision Sciences at Wharton. I loved his class and he was literally the only faculty member that I ever got to know outside of class. My heartfelt condolences to his family and his Northeastern community.

My warmest condolences. I knew him very well when I was at MIT (80s), we had common interests in the area of vehicle routing and we even co-authored a paper that appeared in Management Science. Last saw him abt 2 years ago. May he rest in peace.

I just learned of the untimely death of Dr. Marius Solomon through a message circulated by Dr. Martin Salvesbergh of the Georgia Institute of Technology. I have known Marius for at least 30 years by now. He was a brilliant man and a wonderful gentleman with a great sense of humor. He livened up every gathering he attended. And he made many important contributions to his field of Operations Research and Management Science, for which he was internationally recognized and which led to his election as a Fellow of INFORMS.

Marius had many friends and admirers in many parts of the world and will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his extended family.

This very sad news reached me through our mutual professional society of INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences). Dr. Solomon was an INFORMS Fellow and well-known for his work in transportation and logistics. I always enjoyed seeing him and speaking to him at our conference. My sincerest condolences to his daughters and family. He will be missed.
