I was so saddened to hear of Erics passing. I met him my very first day at Brown. He was the first person I spoke to there setting the bar quite high as anyone who knew him can imagine. Even though we traveled in different circles he always had a smile and hello for me for the next four years whenever our paths crossed. My deepest condolences to his family and to the community of which he seemed to be such an integral part.

Janet, Isabel, Maddie, and Jack,
We are deeply saddened to hear about Eric's passing and are so very sorry for your family's loss. The world has lost a good man.
I was fortunate to spend time coaching on the baseball field and on the sidelines during games with Eric a few years ago, when Jack and Matt played small diamond baseball together.
Eric was a terrific friend, and always enjoyable to be around. He was always so positive, and willing to help and support everyone around him. He was quick witted, insightful, and enjoyed a good laugh.
Eric will be missed, but always remembered.

To the Schwartz Family, I was so saddened to hear of Eric's passing and although I was never fortunate enough to meet all of you, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Eric was a fraternity brother of mine, Kappa Sigma, at Brown. He was the president my sophomore year, his junior. He made the place special by the force of his personality. The joy in which he lived life and with such good humor was infectious. No one was more comfortable in his own skin than Eric. His light will always shine brightly.

Janet, My deepest condolences to you on Eric's passing. Eric was a friend , coach and mentor to many. He was always willing to extend himself , his time and his resources to help others. He especially did it when it came to baseball and not in just supporting Jack, but everyone he coached and came in contact with. Always ready to throw BP with that rubber arm, he would do it for hours and do it for anyone that asked. Eric's help and assistance through the years in the Nokona Baseball program is something I personally will never forget. He always gave and never asked for anything in return. His selflessness is an incredible example and legacy and I thank him for it. I am overwhelmed , humbled and honored that Eric's wish would be to start a scholarship foundation in his name to support the program he gave so much to. May God Bless you and your family Eric. May you Rest In Peace. Geoff

Dear Schwartz Family,
Eric was a section mate of mine at HBS. He was always full of life, smiling and ready to have fun. Everyone adored him as he brought so much joy to our lives.
I remember he promised us a tailgate party at the Harvard/Yale game on a Sunday afternoon. Despite having been out, to an almost all night black-tie affair, he appeared in the parking lot in his rather worn looking tuxedo with the grill going and beers on ice. He had managed to get there having flattened all four tires on the way...another story there..
He was indefatigable, a man of his word -- and just plan great.
I send you all my deepest condolences. He was a wonderful man who will be fondly remembered by everyone who every met him.
Warmest Regards,
Miranda Magagnini

Dear Janet, Isabel, Maddie & Jack,
Words are so limiting but they are the best we can do at times like these. We are so sorry to hear about Eric's passing.
I wanted to share a memory after we first met your family over 15 years ago.
We had just moved to Highland Circle and you were the first family to welcome us into the neighborhood.
You had invited us to dinner at your home and Eric's college roommate was one of the guests. I recall him telling us about Eric and their football days together at Brown and how humble he said Eric always was. The details are not important, but I smiled as I remember Eric in the basement that evening taking out his college yearbook and us all having a good laugh about his so called glory days.
I remember him as a humble man accompanied by a larger than life personality and a father who was devoted to his wife and children. He will no doubt live on through the legacy of his beautiful children.
Wishing you peace and blessings in the days ahead.
Love,
Lynn, Charles, Matthew & Nairi

Dear Janet, Isabel, Maddie and Jack,
My condolences on Eric's passing.
Eric was like the Mayor of Wayland. He was full of energy and boundless enthusiasm. His love for sports and coaching far surpassed others. When I saw him "emceeing" for WHS basketball games, I was pretty darn impressed.
He'll always be remembered.
Fondly,
Jane Griffin

Eric was a fraternity brother at Brown where he was a larger-than-life personality. He was smart, funny, athletic and energetic.Despite all his successes, he never hesitated to laugh at himself. He was literally the life of the party back then. I am so sad to hear this news. He was one of the all-time greats.

Happy thoughts of Eric...."dinner group", my first and last martini:),sledding in Needham, riding waves in Scituate, going for a run in Maine, bowling, and tossing the football. The best part is our activities always involved our families and friends.

The McHarg Family is profoundly saddened by the loss of "Mr. Schwartz." He was an enthusiastic and charismatic presence at WSTC, summer after summer... holding contests for the first kids in the pool and the last kids out! He mentored Rory in his pitching career and always cheered on Fiona during her swim races.
We will miss him terribly, and sincerely hope that Janet, Isabel, Maddie, and Jack will find solace in the many, many wonderful memories of their time together with such a fun and loving person. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

The Grazewski family extends their sympathy for your loss and the loss of a deeply committed Wayland resident. Who doesn't remember Eric driving thru town in his black Jeep, full of kids, top down, with his kids baby shoes hanging from the rear view mirror? It is one of my fondest memories of Eric.
