Marylynn Rush Obituary

Marylynn Davis Rush, 89, passed away on Feb. 2, 2010, in San Jose, Calif., after a brief bout with an intestinal infection.

Marylynn Rush was born Marylynn Davis in Belgrade on Dec. 17, 1920, to Henry Tilman Davis Jr. and Elizabeth Jane Davis. She grew up on a ranch outside of town and attended the local schools until she moved away to Oregon during the war.

She worked in the local shipyards building ships as part of the war effort, and it is there that she met and married her husband, Richard Rush. Together they opened and worked in a successful insurance agency in downtown San Jose for more than 35 years until they both retired in the 1980s. She and Richard traveled extensively, seeing more than 30 countries and six continents.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Rush; children, Janice "Rush" Fredrickson, Bill A. Rush, and Kenneth K. Rush; her brother, Sidney Hoffman "Hup" Davis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth; brothers, Thomas "T" Davis, Arthur Davis; and sister, Virginia Davis Holcomb.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Foothill Presbyterian Church, 5301 McKee Road, San Jose, CA 95127-2292.
