Hard to believe it's been nearly a decade, wow! Time really does fly, seems like just yesterday I'd be hearing Lukes bellowing voice in my ear "LETS GO BUFFALO!". He was the first person I met when I first got to PotsdamState & he was undoubtedly my closest friend from that school. I bottomed out after my 1st yr, & we stayed in touch. I spoke to him not long before he passed & I was definitely shocked to find out. I've lived the past 9+ yrs-thinking about him! Always, I feel to some extent, that I'm living my life for not just myself...but for those I've lost along the way as well. Miss you brother, I hope you're in a good place-& we'll meet again someday, until then ;)

I didn't know Luke very well, but I know that he was a great friend to my friends here at school. I wish I knew him better, but what I did know was great. He will be missed by many.

I'm so sorry for you loss. I met Luke 3 years ago at Potsdam, and he's been one of my closest friends since. He is an amazing man and did not deserve to die so young.

Lonely hands
Underneath youthful skin
Laid aching bones
Calloused and tired
Too weary to hold tight
Fading hands
My hands reaching for what once was
Tracing warm shadows left behind

This is not a goodbye my friend, but until we see each other again. So many regrets, but the largest is not being there to hold your hand when you needed it the most. When I see you again, I won't let go.

To Joey and the Hoag Family,
There are no words to truly express how so very sorry we are about your loss. Lucas was like another son to us. What a wonderful young man with such a kind heart; always willing to help.
Some quick memories… taking down a dead tree at the Beers cabin; helping Joe put on a new roof; digging out a pathway near the pond; out on the pontoon boat; fishing in the pond/lake; zip-lining; snowboarding; snowball fights; sharing a beer; Sabres games; tossing the football; bonfires; fireworks; playing with the dogs; swimming in our pool; ice cream cones!
We'll miss his wonderful smile and big hugs. Good bye Luke. We love you.
So cherish the memories and know God is always with you…. Lucas is with Him now. Peace and love
The Beers Family
