I taught with Dick at Cleveland Hill High School in the late 1950’s. While I had not seen him I left there in I959, Dick’s genuine goodness as a person, his dedication as a teacher, and the good times we shared remained memorable.
Ironically, in December I located and telephoned him to see if he wanted to have lunch with Tom Flaminio and Bob Smith who also taught with us and whom I also had not seen in over a half-century. Dick and I had a nice chat but he was unable to make he date we had selected but wanted to know of any subsequent get-togethers. Sadly that now will have to wait until another dimension.
I extend my sincere condolences to Dick’s family. Please know the persisting influence he had on those of us fortunate to have been his colleague.
