Mom passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, May 25, 2015. She was born in Cabri, SK and was the youngest of Susan and Joseph Lyster's six children. Her father worked for the CPR. Mom attended school in Empress, AB. She then trained for nursing and dental work. Mom and Dad married while Dad was the railroad station agent and the telegrapher at Empress. They raised four children. With the railway, the family lived in rural Saskatchewan and Alberta at Lemsford, Jenner, Torrington, Success, Pennant, Grassy Lake, Vulcan, and Estevan before settling in Calgary. Mom was predeceased by Dad and all of her siblings. She leaves behind her children Tom (Mav), Barb (Bob), Darrel (LynnAnn) and Chad (Tracy), as well as grandchildren Greg, Kris, Jason, Ryan, Sarah, Molly, Clayton and Breena. Mom was also blessed with five great- grandchildren. Mom was an avid reader and followed Canadian politics and world events. She was a Calgary Stampeders fan. Mom asked that special thanks be extended to Dr Vacy-Lyle as well as to staff at Lake Bonavista Village where she enjoyed the last 10 years of her life. At Mom's request, no funeral will be held.
