My sincere condolences to
Heather, Doug, Ron and David. Fernie was always a good friend to all, and especially to my Mom over the years and during her illness. I'll never forget her kindness. She certainly was one of a kind. Best wishes. Gere Curtiss, Vancouver, B.C.

I didn't know Aunt Fernie very well but from reading the loving tributes to her I realize what an amazing woman she was. She raised a wonderful family and she and my Mom (Elsie Potter) maintained a friendship as long as they possibly could. Our deepest condolences to the family.

My condolences, Doug, Heather, Ron, David and Families
Fernie always made me feel welcome. I miss the hours spent in the warmth of her kitchen drinking tea and chatting. A dear friend.

deepest of condolences to clan powers in their bereavement
for my part i can say it was truly my great privilege to have known fernie for the better part of fifty one years
her home a welcoming sanctuary for many including myself and members of my family over the years
a cup of tea and a consoling hand were always there for the many who called this dearest of ladies friend, each fortunate enough to discover a generosity in soul and spirit that knew no bounds
but fernie's legacy may best be found in her remarkable children, all of whom grew to be accomplished and successful people in their own life's journey, reflecting the same warmth and generosity as did their mother: without notion of judgement, but possessed rather of quiet regard while waiting for humour to push away stormy clouds or beat back the blues
i had friends in from university a few times when i called fernie's home my own for four years: they were all quite taken with fernie, leaving with the sense they had met someone very special
my answer was always the same in the explaining
you my friends have been in the company of an angel, and that what fernie was and will always be to me
an angel

I had the pleasure of meeting your Mom Fernie at Cedars, where my Mom resides. Thank you to the family for knitting a hat for my Mom, she loves it.

You loved your candles Mom. I will always have one lit for you on my kitchen altar as I prepare meals, make tea and visit with friends. You will be there too.

Dear Dave and Cheryl, I only met Fernie a few times, but I remember her as "colour"- she laughed rainbows that were as bright as the outfits that she wore. I am sorry for the loss of your mom...and I know she is playing the piano in Heaven, turning every so often, to smile down upon you. With deepest sympathy, Kristin Duff
