Arlene,Bob and family;
Not a day ever goes by that I do not think of you all for what you live with each and every day and especially now.
There are no words sufficient; no gesture majestic enough to empathize with your pain and sorrow.
Mark truly was a rare human being "always looking out for the well being of others". He gave so much of himself to others without ever asking for anything in return. He truly left a legacy behind on this earth, when he was taken from us all.
If we can, let's all rejoice in the magic moments Mark brought to all our lives thanks to his existence.
Let us all appreciate how special we all are to each other in the grand scope of things on this plane of existence we'll never truly understand.
You all have the support of family, friends and strangers who you may not even know. We all feel your pain and sorrow.
I truly, hope as time does goes by it will heal all your hearts.

Mr.& Mrs. Mariani and KATHY I just found out about Mark my sincere condolences KATHY and family. Kathy I know how it feels but lets be strong, my Mother just passed away a few weeks ago also. He was a nice guy from what I can remember. I will say a extra pray for Mark and you and your family, when I pray for my Mother.I here it is a great place that they are in now. My sincere condolences to the Mariani family. My mother use to babysit Mark and his siblings and he was the most gentle, kind spirited person you could ever meet.

I don't know you but all of you are in my thoughts and prayers, as I know you are in those of so many Calgarians who, like me, are so saddened by the senseless death of Mark. I wanted for you to know that I am thinking of you today as you say good-bye and will continue to remember you, and Mark, in the future. I read an article in the Herald yesterday about Arlene's concern that Mark's death might be seen as ‘just one more,’ or something along those lines. Reading that prompted me to write here. Please know that people, friends and strangers alike, do NOT think that. We know Mark was a son, brother, uncle and friend and not just another statistic. I am truly sorry for your loss.

My Dear Mariani family,
Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel. My thoughts are with you at this time. This is so surreal . Mark was one of the kindest, wisest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever known. I’ll never forget that time, when my Dad and I got to work late at Bertino’s and I was so worried that we wouldn’t get the place all cleaned up and ready to go before it opened. Mark happen to come in that morning. Mark told my Dad and I slow down calm down and he helped us with the situation. Witch today I still carry that lesson with me. Mark was so caring . Very respectful always calling my Mom and Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Petrollini, and me sweetheart. He was a wonderful man. We are thinking of you during this difficult time. My Mariani family cause that's what you were to me "my family" as I was growing up. May the peace which comes from the memories of Mark, comfort you now and in the days ahead.
