Kathryn Lazarides Obituary
age 91, of North Canton, passed away early Friday morning. Born in Canton to the late John and Anna (Gregoriades) George, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Steve Lazarides, sisters, Olga Adams, Helen George, Arti Samartgedes and Mary Klus. Kathryn was a 1943 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Koraes Ladies Society both for over 60 years.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Deidre, Steve and Ann; grandchildren, Steve (Alexsandra) Lazarides, Andrea (Mark) Condodemetraky, Christian (Heather) Lazarides, Lex (Janelle) Lazarides; great-grandchildren, Deano, Alexi, Niko, Nicholas and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with funeral services to follow at 11, Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen officiating. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4705 Fairhaven Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44709) of a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Inn at Belden Village and Altercare of Nobles Pond and Dr. Alexsandra Mamonis and Melania Valore for their exceptional loving care of Kathryn.

Steve and family,
I'm so sadden to hear of Kathryn's passing. She was one of a kind. She always made me laugh and she always asked if my closets were clean. I will miss her well dressed, smiling face coming into the office.

We will forever have an empty space at our dining room table and in our hearts. She lived a full, beautiful life and was incredibly generous to so many people.
Yia Yia, though I am incredibly sad at your passing, I am so thrilled to know that you are reunited with your beloved sisters and our Papou.

YiaYia "Steve"-
As an avid reader of The Repository, I'm betting that you will see these entries, and i hope you get a kick out of them...
When i heard the thunder the other night, my first thought was that you were already up there straightening things up. Im sure furniture had to be moved around, drawers needed lined, and the kitchen needed prepared for your first batch of koulourakia from the other side. I imagine that in Heaven, you wont have to worry about burning them anymore, which is kind of cool when you think about it. Things wont be as organized for any of us left down here now that you are gone.
As Andrea said - i hope your sisters were prepared for your arrival. I can just hear you telling them that "the show is over."
Give them a hug for us - and Lazo and Papou too. None of you will ever be far from our thoughts, as we know that we were never far from yours.
We love you YiaYia. Rest in Peace.

To all of us who knew and loved her: So sad to lose this special lady. Thankfully, she didn't suffer a long time, but we didn't like seeing her so unlike herself. She is in peace now... I will miss my good buddy...
