John Easton Obituary

John Travis Easton, 31, of Pagosa Springs passed on Sept. 20, 2012, in a motor vehicle accident in Tehama County, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Clare, and stepdaughter Lila Burns of San Diego, Calif.; his mother and stepfather, Dave and Lori Widdifield of Silverthorne; his father, Tom Easton of Bailey; and a brother, Nick (Stacie) Easton, and nephew Sawyer of Bailey.
John graduated from Evergreen High School in 1999 and lived his life moving from one adventure to another, always making time for his friends and family. John was an active enthusiast of nature and was employed by many forestry conservation projects, most recently at Volcanoes National Park working as a wildland firefighter.
John's family have received many condolences from the many people he touched throughout his young life and appreciate the kind words about his celebrations and achievements, and are comforted by the many compliments in the man John grew to be.
An old man once said, "There comes a time in life when you walk away from all the drama and the people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad and focus on he good. So love the people who treat you right, pray for those who don't."
A celebration for John is set for 11 a.m. Nov. 3 at Lower Cataract Lake in Silverthorne.
Published by Canyon Courier from Oct. 16 to Oct. 24, 2012.

I was thinking of you today John. You'd stop by on your way home from school, then say "I have to go home, my little brother will be home soon." I wish I could have been there for you John.
