Earl Rix Obituary

Earl Rix

Earl H. Rix, 89, a resident of Hanover and previously of Littleton, W.Va., died December 1 at his residence.

He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Iowa, and received his B.A. degree in engineering from Iowa State. He worked for Westinghouse as Chief Electrical Engineer. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the National Society of Professional Engineers. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed carpentry, mountain climbing and being in the great outdoors, football and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Marilyn B. Rix; and son, Edward Rix.

He is survived by two children, Dr. Robert Rix of Upper Marlboro and Kathy Cruppenink of Hanover; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
